About Puente Democrático
Puente Democrático is a project within the area "International Promotion of Human Rights" of the Center for Opening and Development of Latin America (CADAL). Its objective is to realize international acts of solidarity and to support the efforts of the democratic people who live within dictatorial countries as well as to influence the implementation of a foreign policy that is committed to Human Rights on the part of the Latin American countries.

Media, politics and democracy

The conference "Media, politics and democracy" took place at the Auditorium of Universidad de Bologna in Buenos Aires, with a debate on the book "Political power and media. From political representation to reality show". The speakers were Bernardo Sorj, Hernán Galperín, Fernando Ruiz and Martín Becerra with José María Ghío moderating the debate. The activity was co-organized by Plataforma Democrática, CADAL, Universidad de Bologna and Universidad de San Andrés.

The opening was in charge of Bernardo Sorj, Director of Centro Edelstein and Plataforma Democrática (Brazil) and editor of the book. (Watch the video in Spanish).

The first intervention was by Hernán Galperín, Professor and Researcher at Universidad de San Andrés. (Watch the video in Spanish).

Following was one of the authors of the book, Fernando J. Ruiz, Professor of Journalism and Democracy at Universidad Austral. (Watch the video in Spanish).

The closure was in charge of Martín Becerra, Director of the Department of Social Science at Universidad Nacional de Quilmes. (Watch the video in Spanish).
